Cinnamon-Roasted Grapefruit

Whether enjoying this easy treat as part of a light breakfast or a late evening dessert, baking the grapefruit brings out all the delicious and juicy flavors and the cinnamon and sugar tickle the taste buds with just the right amount of spicy sweetness. Paired with some creamy dairy, it’s so good.


2 pink grapefruits, halved
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1-2 tablespoons butter

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place the grapefruit halves cut side up onto a lined baking sheet. With a sharp knife, slice along the edges of each grapefruit segment and along the rind.

Step 2

Spread 1/2 tablespoon of brown sugar on each grapefruit half, sprinkle with cinnamon, and dot with chunks of butter.


Step 3

Bake the grapefruit for about 5 minutes. Turn on the broiler and bake for another 5 minutes. The grapefruit should just be starting to brown on top.

Step 4

Serve warm with a dollop of quark, yogurt, or whipped cream.
